Fraud investigation

Forensic Systems International, LLC (FSI) recently completed a fraud investigation service of a company-issued workstation computer which happened to contain the Electronically Stored Information (ESI) that proved the case for defendant’s liability.

The fraudulent activity alleged in this matter involved the redirection of customer orders for court reporters and professional transcription services from our client to the defendant’s putative new employer.   The defendant served in the capacity of office manager and staff scheduler while employed by our client, and was in a unique position to commit the alleged activity for a 3 month period prior to transitioning to her new job.

The forensic computer examination services which we performed included the preservation of all ESI resident on the computer, a detailed examination of the preserved ESI, the capture e-Mails and other messages transmitted from the defendant to her new employer, a review of a home computer containing additional incriminating communications and documents, and the preparation of trial and deposition exhibits.
